The Urban Research-Based Action Network (URBAN) aims to connect academics with community members using participatory research to jointly develop solutions to big questions emerging in cities – such as the future of governance and democracy, the role of markets, stewardship of nature and the environment, and the role of race and identity in constructing communities. Through action-based scholarship, this network of scholars and community stakeholders contributes to both theory and, more importantly, to prosperous and sustainable urban communities.
